New Center for Public Safety Training Facility located on a 10-acre site. The building is home to Polk State College’s programs in criminal justice, emergency medical services and fire science technology, as well as the Polk State Kenneth C. Thompson Institute for Public Safety, a regional training academy for both new recruits and working law enforcement officers. The $24M project is located adjacent to the Police Station and Medical Examiner’s office and is seeking LEED accreditation.
